eMA Staff Profile

Esther Muchiri

The Executive Director and has the responsibility of successfully managing and growing eMentoring Africa to serve the myriad of youth in Kenya and in the African continent. She has over 18 years cumulative experience working with an international organization in various capacities, largely managing regional ICT programs in East and Southern Africa. She is the founder of ANDEST BITES Ltd, a Kenyan business process outsourcing company. She has a passion for empowering the youth and strengthening family relationship and has facilitated numerous marriage seminars over the last 15 years.


Jimmy Macharia

The Director of Education, is an Assistant Professor in Information Systems at the United States International University, Nairobi, Kenya. He is in-charge of curriculum development at eMentoring Africa, with over 20 years experience in the higher educational sector, consultancy, and business. As an ICT expert, he was a member of the National ICTs policy formulation team where he was the chairperson of the Information Technology (IT) Working Group that saw the finalization of the Kenya ICT policy document. He was also a member of the Kenya Education Strategy development team. He is an author of several research articles in ICT as well as four computer studies textbooks for high school.

Margaret Wakuru Nyutho

The one of the founders of EMA and is currently the Operations Director. She brings a wealth of experience from the civil service, the consultancy firms and the NGO world. Her diverse exposure enables her to transform problems and challenges into institutional and interpersonal opportunities. She holds a Higher Diploma in Psychological Counselling, a Business Administration Diploma from ABE, an Advanced French Course Certificate, and several other skilled courses including a DOHSS Safety and Health Induction Course.



Range Mwita

Range Mwita, is the Training and Curriculum Development Programme Coordinator. He is responsible for planning and organizing training events for mentors and mentees as well as support the Director of Education in developing and finalizing the eMA online mentoring curriculum. This includes taking the lead role in recruiting, screening and matching mentors for the e-mentoring program, participating in the development of fundraising proposals and taking charge of finance and accounts for eMA. Mr. Range holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work (1st Class Honors) and a Diploma in Project Management and Community Development. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology at the University of Nairobi.
