Majority of these youth are not aware of the critical space they occupy in the society and the opportunities available for them in the social economic structures. In fact many youth lack guidance in making the right decisions for their future until too late when they find themselves entangled in idleness, drunkenness, drug abuse, crime, violence and enrolment into prescribed gangs. To address this social economic problem, eMentoring Africa has pioneered online mentoring for our youth in Kenya. The idea is to reach out to the youth by showing them the many opportunities that surround them, giving them hope in the future and making them truly believe in becoming leaders of today and tomorrow. To achieve this noble cause, we have developed an online curriculum for the youth and young career graduates (MENTEES). By linking them to professionals (MENTORS) via a secure Internet platform, our program will impart values, attitudes, academic excellence, life-skills, responsible and productive life style, integrity and professionalism to the Mentees. Our driving force is the desire to help the youth discover their hidden and untapped talents, skills and creativity, and guide them towards their dream careers, business ventures, and productive life styles.
